If you have spent hundreds of dollars on flat irons only to be disappointed, I have some great news for you. As an African-American with fine but kinky hair, I too have had the problem of finding a flat iron that would leave my hair silky smooth. Many years ago I had my hair done professionally twice a month. My hair dresser was fabulous. I enjoyed everything from the shampoo to the blow dry. She was the only technician that left my hair shiny and bouncy and it stayed that way until I returned for my next appointment.
Then one week as I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I was told that she had quit and moved to Southern California just that quickly. I was devastated. I tried out a few new hairdressers, but they couldn't get my hair the way I liked it. Often my hair was weight-down with products or began to frizz up way before my next appointment. For some reason my hair was absorbing all the moisture in the air and after 2 to 3 days it didn't look like I had ever been to the salon at all!
I also changed shampoos, conditioners, hair dressings, and tried new treatments hoping that would make the difference, but still no change. At that time I didn't know something as little as a flat iron could make the difference between shiny silk and frizzy hair. But not just any flat iron because I had tried numerous ones in the past, some costing me close to $100.00.
