Ceramic Flat Iron Reviews
Flat Iron Review: Remington Sleek & Curl
Both Remington and Wigo make low to mid irons and prices both make a model of dry to wet. So if you're on a budget or can not be justified spending over a hundred dollars on a professional iron, which should you buy?
Many stylists will tell you that any hair iron under $ 100 is not worth buying, but I disagree. Not all women will want to use an iron or hair every day and they just do not make sense or not to buy a expensive brand. Buying a cheap model is a reasonable option only if you are using an iron occasionally.
There are several models from wet to dry in the market, but perhaps the two best in the budget are the Remington Wet 2 Straight Wigo iron and moisture or Dry Flat Iron. Let's look at what each has to offer and how they compare.
The Remington comes with Teflon 2 "wide and ceramic plates with a steam vent and vapor channel to allow moisture wet hair to dissipate and evaporate. The heat of the plates in 60 seconds you can control, as are 30 temperature settings between 203 - 375f (95 - 190C). There is a display LCD shows the heat stage. Another feature is the audible signal that lets you know when the plates have reached the desired temperature - I like this, as there is no guesswork as to when the iron is ready, it is a feature that is absent in many of the more expensive brands. There is also an automatic shutdown. It weighs 1.4 pounds and costs about $ 30.
The Wigo flat iron also features 2 "ceramic plates with steam vents and channels. The plate heat a little more faster than the Remington, 50 seconds. However, there are fewer options for temperature up to 12. Some might argue - and that could be right - that 12 configurations are many. There is not LCD, it will not be a problem for most. However, a feature that is missing is a sign to know when the plates are to the desired temperature. And, no automatic shutoff. The Remington Wigo is superior to all these 3 points.
Incidentally, if you travel frequently, you may be interested to know that the voltage of the Remington is dual while Wigo not, another point for the Remington in the Wigo.
The price of Wigo flat iron is about $ 50, so that the Remington is also much cheaper.
One thing you should always look before buying a hair iron is the warranty. The models flights tend to stop working long before its more expensive counterparts, so having a good warranty in case something goes wrong is something that is sought. The Remington comes with a 2 year limited warranty, but the Wigo is greater than 3 years, so a big advantage for the Wigo.
But what about using them? Well, Wigo says your iron is ergonomically designed. When you look you will notice that the plates have a slight downward curve, the only way I can think to describe is what it looks like the mouth of a dolphin, if you know what I mean? The Remington has no such ergonomic design. The Wigo also weighs less than the Remington, which makes it less tired to use and easier on the wrists.
However, the flat iron Remington does well in terms of product features for its price. The Wigo flat iron lacks these features, but is perhaps a little easier to use.

An apology is a sorry Preface to any book, however insignificant, and yet I am anxious to apologise for the title of this little tale. The story grew after the title had been (hastily) given, and so many other incidents gathered round the incident of the purchase of the flat iron as to make it no longer important enough to appear upon the title page... |
